Il MTV Video Music Awards 2017 sono finalmente arrivati! I più grandi nomi dell'industria musicale si sono dati appuntamento al Forum di Inglewood, in California, per una notte di celebrazioni e spettacoli dove ospitare Katy Perry—che ha ottenuto cinque nomination ai VMA ed è pronto per esibirsi—contribuirà a onorare i candidati e i vincitori di quest'anno.
MTV ha apportato un importante cambiamento al formato dello show salutando i premi Best Female Video e Best Male Video come categorie separate e combinandoli nel singolo premio Artist of the Year. In precedenza hanno respinto le categorie di genere al MTV Movie & TV Awards 2017.
Kendrick Lamar ha guidato il gruppo con un totale di otto nomination per il suo "Umile". video, seguito da vicino da Il fine settimana, che ha segnato cinque cenni con Perry.
